Welcome to this week's Melbourne events, exhibitions, sports and
community guide.

This week... there are festivals aplenty as Mad March continues,
bringing with it the cross-cultural, cross-genre menagerie of
events that makes Melbourne the colourful city it is. Running the
gamut of everything from cinema and food to sports and good old
community spirit, there's also a distinctively green glow about
this week, which has nothing to do with recycling or how long you
shamefully dingle about in the shower.

St Patrick's day is upon us, when being green in the gills from too
much celebration can also be owed to a dash of food dye in the beer
of the many urbanites who deem it fit to drunkenly bend over
backwards to get in touch with their inner blarney stone once a
year and give it a hearty smooch.

For those who prefer a bit more than a pint while embracing such
Gaelic charms, there's the Echuca Moama Celtic Festival held this
week, along with the Geelong Highland Gathering, where any men
feeling left out of the L'Oreal Fashion Festival can freely
frock-up in a kilt.

Here are highlights from the latest newsletter.
